Thanks for stopping by Plays Well Alone!
I play well with others, too, but being an introvert, I must have alone time or I'm just no good to anyone else or myself.
What attracts each of us to a piece of art is utterly personal; nobody wants to gaze at something they find displeasing! Even though I am an artist by avocation, I have sold much of what I have produced, and that builds my confidence.
My training comes through workshops and a for some years I had a mentor. I'm on my own now...which is both terrifying and freeing. The original idea in my head may or may not be anything like what I produce and initially I am usually disappointed. After a period of time it often looks better, maybe even good!
Some works I love and want to keep, yet after a few years, I am ready to let them go.
Each painting has it's own story. Where the idea came from. The process and feelings during the creation of the piece.
